Kenmore Gas Dryer Igniter Glows But No Heat

I have a gas dryer that runs but does not heat.

Kenmore gas dryer igniter glows but no heat. Start the dryer and watch the heating chamber. If the igniter does not have continuity replace it. If the ignitor doesn t glow on the other hand it may be bad or a fuse. If the igniter glows but the burner doesn t light then at least you know all the components in the control circuit are getting power.

As the igniter draws electric current it will heat to a high temperature and glow as well as cause the bi metal in the oven safety valve to warp and open the valve releasing the gas to be ignited.
